In December 2007, responding to the new Australian Prime Minister's plan for an "education revolution" and to cut wasteful and ineffecient bureaucracies, a group of senior academics from a wide varierty of disciplines and universities across the country have sent an open letter to the new Prime Minister.

The letter states the case for a new wave of university reform, and argues that the efficiency and innovation of university teachers and researchers are at risk from the many layers of demands and controls from higher education bureacracies.

This website is setup to host the open letter along with a list of more than 100 signatories, and to invite new signatories and comments from senior academics in Australia.
